You finally got the kids off to school and you've already put a load of laundry in the machine.
Now, as you put your cold coffee in the microwave, you look at the dishes that need to get done.
You realise that you need to plan what's for dinner and hope inspiration comes so you make a dinner that the kids actually eat. For just once, you wish someone would decide dinner, and not an easy dinner like pizza or hamburgers but a well-balanced, nutritious and delicious meal.
Why does it always fall on you? You want to talk about how many things are falling on your shoulders but you know if you mention it to your husband he'll get defensive and it'll lead to a fight. You don't want to blame, you just want to be seen, understood and supported. So where do you go? What do you do?
Leave your cold coffee and come for a warm cup of tea.
I've created a safe, welcoming space for you and other moms at Balance Wellness, a local mental wellness centre. Every Thursday we come together to share what our challenges are as mom, women and humans.
It may be topics like managing:
imposter syndrome as a parent and at work,
connecting with your partner after kids,
when your kid get bullied,
health issues like infertility and perimenopause,
balancing the family with your Self,
chores and independence
mental health and self care
I'll always have a juicy topic to delve into to facilitate conversation but it's an open floor chat for us moms to genuinely connect. To increase accessibility, you don't have to register to attend and it's only $10 to drop in.
